Recent Advances in Vision-Based Lane Detection Solutions for Automotive Applications

In recent years, autonomous vehicles have become increasingly popular. Different Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are mplemented in today’s vehicles and one of them is the system for lane detection and tracking (LDaT). It can be used either in assistance to the driver, or in the process of autonomous vehicle driving. In this paper, we analyze and explore the advancements in the field of LDaT throughout the recent years and provide a brief review of existing solutions. We categorize the existing solutions, compare them, look for limitations and finally bring a conclusion on where the advancements might be heading in the future.
