On Speciesism

Speciesism is a position in applied ethics which claims that particular beings as such(i.e. humans) deserve a special moral status. Contrary to this position, the criticism says that this attitude is heavily discriminatory, comparable to racism, sexism, etc. All speciesist attempts fail because it is morally implaubible to attribute a moral status (rights) on the basis of belonging to a group and not on the basis and the relation to individal moral status conferring features

bioethics; speciesism; rights
