Autotuning PID controller with supervision shell

In this paper a supervision shell for PID controller autotuning is presented. It includes functions of noise variance estimation, outlier removal and controller parameter switching. The switching between two sets of parameters, one optimized for set point change and the other for load disturbance, is made using detection logic, which distinguishes set point change and load disturbance. Implementation of supervision shell functions was carried out and experimental results show improvement in control behavior in comparison to PID controller with fixed parameters optimized for set point change.
