Identification of chaos in a ferroresonant circuit
The steady-state solutions of a second-order ferroresonant circuit are determined by means of computer simulation. It is shown that the analysed circuit exibits three modes of operation in ferroresonant region: fundamental frequency ferroresonance, subharmonic ferroresonance and chaotic ferroresonance. For a fixed set of circuit parameters and varying the voltage source amplitude only, the ferroresonant circuit can be driven into chaotic ferroresonance through a process of period-doublings. The results of simulations agree well with those obtained by measurements carried out on a physical model of the circuit.
