Design of the Optimal Blades for the Axial Turbomachinery

Often, new designs of turbomachinery require non-standard blade profiles of nozzle and moving cascade in the flow part. The use of standard profiles is reduced to the application of known profiles which have been defined and checked both experimentally and in real working conditions. The application of numerical methods for the calculation of flow in turbomachinery cascade substantially reduces the need for experimental studies. Testing of numerical calculations with results of experimental studies qualifies the numerical methods in applications in similar flow regimes, when there are no experimental bases. The design of profiles of turbomachineries cascades is based on laws of aero and thermodynamic processes which occur during energy conversion. Already the earliest methods which had been based on potential flow about isolated wing profile have given improved efficiency of energy conversion. Further development of the integral and graphic methods of the profile design of the turbomachinery cascades includes simultaneously optimisation of profile with regard to effectiveness of the general energy conversion, taking into consideration the minimum phenomenon of secondary flows. Finally, the application of the numerically controlled tool machines (NC) requires optimal design of blades which is possible by using maximum simple tools. For instance, in the blades manufacturing of the steam and gas turbines cylindrical milling cutter, requiring that the blade directrix are lines. In this work the procedure of automatic design of the body blade of axial turbomachinery by using the applications software, with simultaneously satisfying the aerodynamic, strength and technology demands is given. Due to integrity the formulations of fundametal profiling problems are given also.
