Modelling of Elderly Traffic Victims
Elderly people (65 years and over)and young adults (15-24 years)are the most risky groups regarding traffic accidents. In order to implement more effective primary prevention, it is necessary to indicate main causes of victimisation. Road traffic process is a complex system of interactions of a large set of variables with accidents as rather rare events. The most significant variables were chosen for modelling purpose. The method uses time-series data in non-linear circular transformation of quantitative and qualitative variable forms. This method enables a very selective procedure with qualitative correlations above 0.98. Thus the model establishes a very good base for simulation and prediction in accident's prevention.
