Teacher as a moderator in the process of e-learning
Technological and social development sets the stage for lifelong learning and specialization. Traditional education defined by time, place and teacher availability is not always possible for adults to engage in. One of the solutions is to implement e-learning by using information-communication technology. Learning Management System (LMS) is one form of e-learning. LMS makes education possible for a number of users, independent of their geographic location or time availability. In this paper, the role of a teacher as a moderator in the learning process by using LMS is presented. Prior to using LMS, the teacher needs to gain new computer knowledge and skills in order to transition from traditional teaching methods to e-learning methods. The teacher designs the course, prepares the learning materials in digital form, tracks the learning process, and evaluates the results. Result analysis makes necessary changes to the course design and learning materials in order to improve the learning process. Therefore, the teacher takes on the active role in the e-learning process. This paper presents advantages and disadvantages of using LMS for adult e-learning.
