Privatization in Central and Eastren Europe: between intentions and reality
The intention of this paper is to summarise and confront the aims of the privatisation policies and their actual results, i.e. effects of the privatisation process in the most advanced transition countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Croatia. The focus of the analysis is to identify the consequences of such an extensive change of ownership pattern on the efficiency of those economies and recovery of economic growth. Particular attention is being paid to the analysis of empirical data on the effects of the privatisation process on eneterprise restructuring and increase of their allocative (external) and cost (internal) efficiency.
