Web Metrics as a Means of Croatian Hotel Web Sites Functionality Improvement

The Internet is a powerful tool for providing product or service information to consumers. Effectiveness of the Web site will determines consumer actions. But, the question is whether the Web site is effective and how to measure its effectiveness. In our research, successful performance of the hotel Web site was determined by a set of criteria for hotel Web site that were evaluated. Research results show that hotel Web sites in Croatia have serious problems in finding and attracting their visitors. Effectiveness measured relative to other criteria was generally satisfactory. The results of this evolution also show that quality of the hotel Web site is not related to hotel categorization. Hotel managers should always identify competitive hotel and tourist Web sites whose ideas and practices could be adopted to improve their own hotel Web site even further.
