Preliminary results of gamma-spectrometric study of soils from Island of Brusnik
Massic activities of naturally occurring radionuclides in the soils of Island of Brusnik show that there are three types of soils present. This suggests different parent rocks for these soils. The results imply that, besides the mafic parent rocks, felsic rocks are also present as the parent rocks. Two types of soils are formed by weathering of either mafic or felsic rocks. The third type of soil is a product of weathering of both mafic and felsic rocks.
