Social legacy and social values: A post-communist experience

In this chapter authors were analyzed values and attitudes of social sensitivity in European countries in context of different social systems. Multilevel linear modeling was applied on EVS 1999/2000 data about social helping. Macro (country) level indicators were used to describe contextual parameters and to refine individual data analysis. Results imply that individual values determine social solidarity in the same way, no matter which configuration of social policy is present in particular country.
