The Role of Proliferative Kinetic Index (PKI) in CLL
Except for acute lymphocytic leukemia, all other lymphocytic leukemic types are classified as chronic leukemic lymphoproliferative diseases (CLLPD), forming a heterogeneous group with variable clinical features. The median of survival varies widely in the range from 2 to 20 years for different stages of the disease. The majority of patients with CLLPD have B-chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (B-CLL/SLL) and most non-B-CLL CLLPD is due to the leukemic phase of mantle cell lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, splenic marginal zone lymphoma with circulating villous lymphocytes, or follicular lymphoma.
