The role of the ultrasound in diagnosis and follow-up of liver metastases in breast cancer
Early detection of liver metastases is essential in breast cancer. In these patients characterization of liver lesions is of particular importance. Differentiation between malignant and benign (angiomas, cysts, regenerative nodules, focal nodular hyperplasia) lesions determines futher diagnostic approach. In our experience, propter algorithm of diagnostic procedures is essential for the diagnosis of focal liver lesions in breast cancer. Initial US examination is an efficient and sensitive method in detection and differentiation of liver lesions.
