Modelling of Sound Spectral Properties in Noise Suppression Engineering Materials
Modern way of life brought also problem of noise and its impact on human health and quality of life. There is a law in Republic of Croatia that describes permitted noise emission for specific areas, but also rules that every bigger city should respect in way to avoid dangerous noise. When it comes to traffic, there are several noise sources and methods to decrease noise. Specific mixture of paving materials can bring to different impact on noise level. Measurements have shown that several materials act different, depending on noise bandwidth, so specific mixture of materials can brought to noticeable decrease of traffic noise. The main goal of this work is the development of more efficient and reliable method to identify the sound characteristics of building materials in the affairs of the reduction of environmental noise. The method is based on the spectral analysis of the absorption of sound image of the analyzed material in order to identify and build their graph-analytical models.
