Housing Costs Affordability of Households in the South East European Countries: Cluster Analysis Approach
Single largest expenditure item in the budgets of most families and individuals is housing, therefore even a small percentage change in housing prices and rents will have large impacts on non-housing consumption and household well-being. In this research, with the aim of investigating the housing cost affordability of households in the Europe and in the South East European countries, the cluster analysis i.e. hierarchical and non- hierarchical approach is conducted. The results have shown that, despite many common characteristics, all South East European countries do not have similar housing cost affordability levels. Slovenia seems to have the highest housing cost affordability levels, whereas the FYROM, Greece and Serbia have the lowest housing costs affordability levels among observed South East European countries.
