User function approach in combustion and radiation modelling in commercial CFD environment
This paper aims to show the flexibility of user function modelling in commercial CFD environment. One can focus entirely on the problem of interest and rely on the programme to do the rest of the job. User functions have been used for the implementation of, both, the semi-empiric oil combustion model, developed at Power Engineering Department (PED), and the standard discrete transfer radiation method (DTRM) into AVL’ s CFD package FIRE. The implementation of these two models is presented in this paper.
AVL FIRE; semi-empiric oil combustion model; discrete transfer radiation method (DTRM); user functions; computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
