Durability Analysis of Beam Bridges Based on Dynamic Properties

Dynamic analyses of the representative concrete bridge superstructures with spans up to 50 m, have been utilized to check the load-carrying capacity and serviceability of bridges and overpasses on new Croatian highways. Analysed bridges are grouped depending on the number of spans, the span length, the statical system and bearings used to facilitate the comparison. Alternative structural models have been used to simulate the response of the superstructure. Based on comparison of experimental and theoretical values of analysed concrete bridge superstructures of various structural types and support conditions, their advantages and disadvantages in regard to durability have been noted. In this paper we analyse the behaviour of Drava I Bridge under seismic loading for different characteristics of elastomeric bearings.
