Croatia. The Role of Religion in a Predominantly Catholic Country
The paper explains the role of religion in Croatia by presenting basic data on religious composition (based on Census and sociological data) as well as by explaining the Church-state relations. In addition, the paper describes recent public debates about the role of religion, and in particular in relation to the definition of marriage and health education in public schools. The paper concludes by a brief account of a general influence of religious values in society and about the position of smaller religious communities.
