Roman military actions within Dalmatia – The battle at Taurida
Among a number of Roman military actions within Dalmatia in the 1st cent. BC, the operations and battles during the Civil war 49-47 BC are the best documented. The battle at the island of Taurida fought in 47 BC by the Caesarian and Pompeian fleets is not yet properly located. Proposing the solution of the topographical aspect of the battle, the author offers new explanations of the circumstances that influenced the confrontation and its outcome.
