Short multifactorial plan for the determination of trace metals in complex matrices by flame atomic absorption spectrometry
Youden and Steiner's short multifactorial experimental plan was successfully applied to the determination of Cu-II, Zn-II and Mn-II by FAAS in synthetic samples simulating whole liver homogenates of 1:5 and 1:29 mass ratios. An alternative method of treating the data is described, which makes the modified short multifactorial concept a useful means for the rapid and reliable recognition of those working parameters that are most likely to jeopardize the accuracy of the analytical results.
