Determination of Electrostatic Contribution to Enthalpy of Charging at Metal Oxide/Electrolyte Interface

Interpretation of calorimetric measurements concerning the charging of metal oxide/aqueous electrolyte interface was developed. The interpretation is based on the surface complexation model and involves both 1-pK and 2-pK concept. The resulting relationships enable determination of standard reaction enthalpies of each assumed surface reaction, and also evaluation of the dependency of surface potential on pH.
