Aktivnost 137^Cs u mesu divljih svinja s područja zapadne Slavonije i Gorskog kotara

After the Chernobyl accident, a considerable deposition of 137Cs contaminates Croatia. At that time, higher activities of 137Cs were find in games and animals in pasture. Due to their way of living, games collect 137Cs several times more in relation to domestic animals. Therefore, in this paper, fifteen years after the Chernobyl accident the activity of 137Cs was measured in the muscles of wild boars from the regions of west Slavonia (Sirač and Lipik) and Gorski kotar area (Vrbovsko and Fužine). Muscle samples from the west Slavonia were taken in November 2001, and they were collected from the region of Gorski kotar in the period from December 2001 to April 2002. The activity of 137Cs was determined using direct gamma spectrometry with HPGe semiconductor detector system coupled to a &laquo ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; Camberra&raquo ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; 4096 MCA channel analyzer. The measuring time was 80 000 s. Activity of 137Cs was determined using photo-peak on 661, 6 keV. Obtained results showed that the activity of 137Cs in muscles of wild boars was not the equal in all of investigated regions. It was not equal within the same region, too. Namely, the average activity of 137Cs in the muscles of wild boars from Sirač was 12, 1 Bq/kg thus being three times higher than the average activity of 137Cs in the samples from Lipik (which was 4, 2 Bq/kg). The activity of 137Cs in muscles from Vrbovsko (43, 8 Bq/kg) was almost seven times lower than the activity of 137Cs in the samples from Fužine (294, 7 Bq/kg in average). Found differences in the activity of 137Cs are probably caused by different way of food consumption during various periods of time.
