Properties of recombinant alpha (1) beta (2) gamma (2s) form of the rat GABA-A receptor expressed in the 293 human embryonic kidney cell line

GABA and thiopental enhanced, whilst flumazenil, clonazepam and diazepam displaced (3H)flunitrazepam bound to membranes from 293 human embryonic kidney cells stably transfected with alpha (1) beta (2) gamma (2s)form of GABA-A receptor. The Kd for (3H)flunitrazepam was decreased by GABA. Potent displacers of convulsant t-(3H)butylbicycloorthobenzoate (3H)TBOB were picrotoxin and GABA, while the affinities of thiopental and dehydroisoandrosterone 3-sulfate were in the micromolar range.

GABA-A receptor recombinant; binding; (3H)flunitrazepam; (3H)TBOB
