On numerical modelling of cyclic bending responses of thin-walled structural components
An efficient numerical simulation technique for nonisothermal elastoplastic responses of thin-walled structures has been proposed. A realistic highly nonlinear hardening model has been applied. The closest point projection integration algorithm is presented using a Reissner-Mindlin type kinematic shell model. The proposed algorithm has been embedded into a layered assumed strain isoparametric finite element, which is capable of geometrical nonlinearities. Nonisothermal elastoplastic behaviour of a box column subjected to cyclic bending is analysed.
