Using video lectures in introductory programming courses
Introductory programming courses experience constant problems in getting the right results and sufficient passing rates. In order to increase the quality of knowledge and skills among students of introductory programming courses various visualization tools and other approaches have been proposed but the situation in introductory programming courses has still remained similar. One of possible approaches that can be taken in order to make programming closer to students is the use of video lectures that provide students with more interesting materials and greater flexibility. In this paper an attempt to use video lectures as a part of introductory programming course along with the results about its effectiveness is reported and discussed.
