A computational algorithm for plane stress analysis in finite strain elastoplasticity
The main objective of this paper is to present the finite strain elasto-plastic return-mapping algorithm for plane stress analysis at the material point level, using the multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient. The algorithm was based on the use of consistent tangent elastoplastic modulus and closest point projection. The agorithm satisfies objectivity and incompressibility requirements for plastic flow. The spectral decomposition of the Kirchhoff stress tensor and the elastic left Cauchy-Green tensor has been used to obtain an return-mapping algorithm which is similar to return-mapping algorithms used in the infinitesimal theory.
