Modelling of steel quenching using a finite volume method
On the basis of control volume method the algorithm and computer program for prediction of hardness distribution, residual stresses and strains in quenched steel specimens with complex geometries have been established. The algorithm and computer program are completed to solve 2-D situation problems such as the quenching of complex cylinders, cones, spheres, etc. The computer program is consisted: automatic computation of domain and grid generating, computation of cooling curve in grid-points, computation of hardness in grid-points and computation of stress and strain in grid-points.
