Sensitivity of Multiattribute Design to Economy Enviroment: Shortsea Ro-Ro Vessels
The concepts of sensitivity and robustness are inserted in a multicriterial design procedure in order to improve design quality in the area of economy. A well established concept of nondominance is extended to include robustness as a new design attribute. The new structure of the ro-ro design model comprises a three-level infeasible design elimination procedure and a new approach to the operating cycle definition. Realistic seakeeping estimating, founded on extensive off-line study of generic ro-ro hull form series, was included into the model to define additional design attributes. The economy module was revised after analysis of new data from shipyards, shipping companies and port authorities. Sensitivity of design decision to future states of the operating environment and economy related parameters has been established.
