Biomechanical changes after laminectomy
The problem of surgical approach to the spinal canal, especially in operation of the intervertebral disc, has not yet been solved. In the literature we find different and sometimes even contradictory opinions concerning interhemilaminectomy, hemilaminectomy or complete laminectomy. In the last years there prevails the opinion that hemilaminectomy has some advantages compared with complete laminectomy, because it disturbs less the mechanical relations in the lumbosacral region of the spine. At the same time some authors stress the advantage of complete laminectomy because of a wider approach to the operation area and other facts
