Visualisation of the Internal Root Canal Morphology Using CAD

The aim of this work was to develop a user-friendly procedure for handling of large number of input data in order to obtain accurate 3D reconstruction of root and root canal complex geometry. The input data have been defined using experimental procedure where sectioning of the samples has been performed using handpiece with carborondum disc. The devised computer program enables automatic generation of transversal cross-sectional curves, at the same time enabling the user to rearange the curves using several criteria. Using these data three dimensional models were reconstructed with the purpose of extracting visual and numerical data.
