Vortex Flow Meter with a Queazy-twodimensional Bluff Body for a Lower Minimum Reynolds Number
Performances of vortex meter with a queazy-twodimensional bluff body have been investigated. The bluff body dimensions were optimizied in meter body of inside diameter 50 mm. The ratio of the bluff body width and the pipe diameter changes from 0.24 at the tube axis to 0.28 at the tube walls. The K-factor linearity was found to be better than 0.75% in the range 1:20 for the Reynolds number larger than 20000 and better than 1.5% for the Reynolds number larger than 13000. The prototype series consisting of four meters was produced and calibrated with water and air. The mean Strouhal number for the entire series was 0.848 with the linearity limits 1.5%. The pressure loss coefficient is equal to 1.5.The effects of the upstream and downstream disturbances were studied.
