Tension-Leg Floating Bridge Design

The tension-leg bridge is supported by columns leaning on floatig pontoons placed under the sea surface below the zone of significant wave impact. Submerged pontoons are tethered to the anchor-weight laid on the sea bed. The buoyancy of pontoons carries all traffic and other loads of the bridge. The upper bridge structure is situated high enough to avoid waves and enable sea traffic underneath. The wave transparency under the bridge is assured by slim bridge columns passing through the zone of the wave impact. A solution of a provisional tension-leg bridge connection in the Adriatic for transportation of goods during the war is explained as well as some results of designing, bridge building procedures and program of further research.
