Prediction of steel properties, stresses and strains created during the quenching
An alorithm and computer program for prediction of hardness distribution, residual stresses and strains in quenched steel specimens with complex geometries have been established. Nonlinear finite volume method has been used to simulate the quenching process. The alorithm and computer program are completed to solve 2-D situation problems such as the quenching of complex cylinders, cones, spheres, etc. A distribution of all relevant quenching process values could be given at any moment of quenching by the computer program. The established algorithm amd computer program have been applied in simulation of mechanical properties of concrete of quenched and tempered steel workpiece.
