Mathematical Modelling of Residual Stress Distribution in a Quenched Steel Specimen

An algorithm for prediction of residual stresses in quenched steel specimens with complex geometries have been established. The algorithm and computer program are completed to solve 2-D situation problems such as the quenching of complex cylinders, cones, spheres, etc. Nonlinear finite volume method has been used to simulate the quenching process. A distribution of all relevant values could be given at any moment of quenching by the computer program. The established algorithm have been applied in simulation of residual stresses of concrete steel workpiece.
