Peg in hole problem at automatic assembly
Due to the imperfect character of the assembly robots and the inaccurate production of parts, difficulties during the insertion, as a most common operation in the process of assembly occur. Up to now, several models for solving the problem of insertion have been developed, which can be divided into three groups: passive, active and hybrid. This paper provides an overview of the characteristics of each of the above mentioned models and discusses the possibilities of the improvement of the active models by the implementation of neural network and learning methods.
