Some machinability indicators of high speed machining
In convential production, the finishing times are in most cases similar or even longer than the roughing times, since the feed rates must be relatively low. Since high speed machining still is an alternative production, which enables time reduction, subsequent finishing operation can be in many cases eliminated, but not in infinite (use HSC as a method for ultra precision machining). With increasing the cutting speed some can expect not only the cutting forces decreasing but also process heat disipation with the chips and according to that, better machined surface can be generated. To confirm those facts mentioned above, we analize those two important parameter in cast iron turning.
