ANALYSIS OF HARBOUR BARGE STRUCTURE - Technical Report

The objective of the report is to present the model and the results of 3D FEM MAESTRO analysis of barge structure. Finite element model contains 2868 nodes ( 17208 degrees of freedom), 1654 finite macroelements (88 girders, 578 stiffened panels, 492 transverse beams, 30 pillars, 162 additional beams, 304 additional panels and triangles)Four characteristic loadcases (out of ten) are selected for this presentation. They are adjusted to the longitudinal weight distribution from the corresponding hydrostatic calculation.Deformations and von Mises equivalent stresses on the panels are given for the entire barge as well as. worst normalized safety factors achieved on the panels of the barge. 33 safety criteria (buckling, yield) are checked for each stiffened panel and adjoining girders and frames.
