Transient Phenomena Influence in Power System on Shaft Design of Synchronous Generators with Salient Poles

The approach of synchronous generators with salient poles mechanical dimesioning process shows that calculation analysis should be carried out not only for the three pole short circuit (minimal requirements concerning mechanical dimensioning of generator winding, bearings and axes) but for the two pole short circuit regarding own axis first eigenfrequency and particularly three pole automatic reclosing calculation on lines close to the investigated synchronous generator.
