Dynamic Analysis and Simulation of Complex Human Movement

The recent scientific results in the field of multibody dynamics have given a new impulse to the investigations of complex biodynamic systems movement in which dynamic analysis and simulation of human body locomotion process takes the most significant part. In this paper original approach to the problems of kinematic and dynamic analysis and non-linear dynamic simulation of complex three dimensional human body gross movement has been described. The movement of upper trunk and arm of subject performing tennis stroke has been chosen as an example of complex motion, upon which proposed dynamic analysis and simulation methods are based. The described approach is founded on the recent multibody formulations as well as on the values of the characteristic kinematic data of analysed movement, obtained by measuring. Having finished kinematic analysis and inverse dynamic problem of studied motion, it"s dynamic simulation has been performed. Comparing simulation results, calculated via several algorithms shaped on the basis of recent methods of multibody formulations and numerical procedures of dynamic non-linear systems time response determination, with measured values of significant parameters, applicability of analysed algorithms for the purpose of accurate human gross motion dynamic simulation has been examined. Based on the performed analysis, stable mathematical model for efficient human movement dynamic modelling has been proposed.
