LEAN PRODUCTION AND JOB STRAIN
Until relatively recent times, safety and accident prevention received far more attention than employee health. However, this has changed. Statistics show that occupational diseases may cost industry as much or more than occupational accidents. Especially today we live in a period of time in wich new systems of work organization are being introduced througout the industrialized world. This results in higher job demands and more work tasks that are set upon the workers, what can very often have cosequences on the workers physical and psychical health. Many organisations now not only atempt to remove health hazards from the workplace, but also have investigated programs to improve health.
