A single mathematical model for all kinds of heat exchangers
A general dimensionless mathematical model is shown, covering recuperative heat exchangers, adiabatic evaporative devices. Varios groups of devices share some common features, described by the same terms in the set of differential equations.The fact that all these devices are covered by the (parts of) the same model makes it possible to simulate a part of the more complex process by conducting such a proces in simpler device.This can be particularly useful for the analysis of the most complex nonadiabatic evaporative devices, such as evaporative condensers or evaporative fluid coolers - by operating them as air washers and recuperators, information about the processes inside can be obtained more easily.
