Wear mechanisms for steam turbine rotor blades
Wet steam flow in condensing steam turbines usually causes wear of the last stage rotor blades, and makes their service life shorter. In this paper the wear mechanism is described and explained. The paper presents the results of many years of monitoring and researching the laws of the wear process and its mechanisms on turbine rotor blades. On the basis of the obtained results, the law of the wear process is defined and a simplified model of rotor blades service life is estimated.
