COEFFICIENT OF CHIP COMPRESSION DEPENDING ON VALUE OF MILLING CUTTER RAKE ANGLE
Efficiency of milling machining is possible judging by coefficient of chip compression, because increased value of coefficient of chip compression is pointing out on decreasing of cutting force, lower cutting temperature and on wear of milling cutter’s edges. By visual monitoring of chips elongation, often is possible to evaluate quality of the cutting process, especially when is hard or even impossible to optical approach to the process itself. Values of chip compression degree are depending on many factors, especially by value of tool working normal rake. This research give us results of influence of milling cutter working normal rake on chip shape during milling two steels with profile relief turned high speed steel milling cutter.
