Lymphoid and myeloid cell subsets in pigs immunized with F4ac^+ nonenterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (non-ETEC) strain
We have evaluated immunogenicity of F4ac^+ non-ETEC strain Abbotstown A in the specific immunization of weaned pigs based on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of the local (intestinal) immunity. Orogastric immunization of pigs with 10^10 CFU/mL of F4ac^+ non-ETEC strain Abbotstown A induced increase in relative proportions of lymphoid and myeloid cells from the mesenteric lymph node, especially of B-lymphocytes and macrophages. The relative proportions of SWC8+ lymphoid and SWC3^+ myeloid cells were increased in the ileal Peyer's patches of immunized pigs. The results indicate increased proportions of lymphoid and myeloid cells in gut-associated lymphoid tissues (GALT) of immunized pigs, and thus, solid immunogenicity of live oral vaccine against postweaning colibacillosis. We assume that our study will contribute to a better understanding of induction and regulation of the immune reactions in the GALT of weaned pigs primed with vaccinal antigens of E. coli strai applied as an immunogen.
