Logički problemi ekologije

The term ecology has been often misunderstood and misinterpreted among biologist and even more among non-biologist. Ecology is defined as a scientific discipline of interrelationships between living organisms as whole and their environment. Environment is defined as the total sum of external influences (physical, chemical, biological) acting on organism. Ecology is fundamental biological scientific discipline, like morphology, physiology, biogeography, palaeontology, evolutionary biology and systematics. Accordingly it is not science of environmental factors (natural or artificial) because they are the subject of other scientific disciplines (physics, chemistry, climatology, pedology etc.). Being a biological scientific discipline the borders of biology is borders of ecology. Finally, it is noteworthy that ecology refers to the man as a biological, but not as a sociological or cultural being.
