Microstructure notch toughness relationship of microalloyed steels
The paper seeks to solve the problem of relationship between notch toughness in the upper-transition area and the microstructure of microalloyed steels with R of <600MPa. The parametric equation K = f (characteristics of microstructural) was derived on the basis of the knowledge from literature on relationship between the structure and transition tempertature and between indivdual brittle fracture characteristics in the transition area in the impact bend test. This equation was experimentally verifed on three steels with R=345-555 MPa and it can be assumed as perspective.
