Charge Transport Modelling in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Understanding the carrier transport properties in organic light-emitting diodes is important in order to design and optimize new devices. It is particularly desirable to predict the electons and holes distributions which determine the radiative recombination process. We present a theoretical analysis of electrical contacts including dipolar layer formation, thermoionic and tunneling injection, space charge effects , transport and recombination processes .In order to understand the interplay of the various mechanisms in the real device and to determine which are the critical ones , we have assembled these results in a one-D numerical code .Such models would accelerate the process of device optimization .
