Analysis of crosstalk in the semiconductor crosspoint switch array
In the medical equipments for recording evoked potentials, a large crosspoint switch array is used for connecting inputs of differential amplifiers and electrode inputs. Today the number of electrodes connected to the equipment can reach 64 or more, while the number of amplifiers can be 32. So the size of crosspoint switch array should be at least 64x32. Such a large crosspoint switch cannot be made sufficiently small and cheap by using electromechanical switches. By using several standard large CMOS crosspoint switch arrays (size of 16x16) we can achieve in the same time small size and substantially lower price of the crosspoint switch array. One of the main questions in using CMOS crosspoint switch arrays is how much of crosstalk they introduce among channels. In this paper the electrical model of CMOS crosspoint switch array will be given. The analysis of crosstalk will reveal which elements in the electrical model contribute to the crosstalk and how much. At the end measured data and data numerically calculated using proposed electrical model will be compared.
