Optimisation of Cogeneration Plant Management in Process Industry
The paper presents an optimisation model for the cogeneration plant operating in the process industry. The considered energy system consists of a variety of production units with different efficiency characteristics, so the main goal is to define an optimum load allocation among available production units. The total energy system is split to three subsystems (steam generation, turbogenerators and electric distribution), which is treated separately to find an optimum model for the whole plant. The use of the Lagrangian multipliers method is presented for the steam generation plant and the approach with linear programming for the turbogenerators plant. The proposed techniques are suitable to consider all operation constraints during the optimisation procedure. The work is based on the research case in Refinery Rijeka for introducing such a model to the new energy plant.
