An Analysis of Performance of Combined Cyclic Heat Treatment
The role of particular parts of combined cyclic heat treatment has been investigated and optimization of parameters of the mentioned heat treatment has also been done. The combined cyclic heat treatment is based on combination of diffusional and nondiffusional transformations. The combined cyclic heat treatment is consisted of temperature cycling with diffusional transformation and first quenching and second quenching with nondiffusional transformation. In combined cyclic heat treatment both, temperature cycling and second quenching, increases constructive strength, i.e., the steel resistance to brittle fracture and to excessive plastic deformation. The increase of steel capability is directly in function of structure fitneness and thermal deformation hardening. The possibility of strengthening of steel for quenching and tempering by cyclic heat treatment has been investigated too. Better mechanical properties are obtained by the appropriate cycling heat treatment then by the quenching and tempering of structural steel for quenching and tempering.
